"Heydon is a hit, as is his 1st CD"-Missoulian Entertainer
Bottom line:Cory Heydon's debut CD is an uncommon blend of country, folk and blues from a prodigiously skilled acoustic artist.
So the wait has been long, long for Cory's debut CD, which is on sale now in stores everywhere around western Montana. The recording was 2 years in the making, but well worth the wait. Cory's earthy and mellow style permeates the CD. For his fans this is the essential Cory Heydon, a musician whose songs drip of lament and sentimentality. Cory's sense of music as a whole package, of the interplay between music and lyrics, style and substance, is superb.
But it's the small things that make this music work. Cory is a tasteful and sublime singer. His perfect placement of the bends of pitch and change in timbre are masterful. He's as adept at belting out the blues as he is a modified country twang.

"Best local musician-Cory Heydon"-Missoulian Entertainer
More than sixty local noisemakers won the affections of at least on voter, but the oh-so-hard-working Heydon gets the glory. Heydon collected his fan club with a mix of wit and shoe leather. The fact that he plays two or three gigs a week at local taverns sure didn't hurt his campaign.
